Shining Bright at 150: Orlando’s Day of Service at Eagles Nest Park

On July 31st, our Central East District team proudly joined the City of Orlando’s 150th Anniversary Day of Service, a citywide initiative honoring this historic milestone through acts of community care.

Partnering with Keep Orlando Beautiful and District 6 Commissioner Bakari F. Burns, our team volunteered at Eagles’ Nest Park, where we participated in a lake cleanup project. Together, we collected debris, beautified the park grounds, and helped restore the natural environment for residents and wildlife to enjoy. It was inspiring to see so many hands come together to protect one of Orlando’s cherished green spaces.

The City’s 150th birthday isn’t just a celebration of its past; it’s a commitment to building a brighter future. That’s why service projects were held across all six districts, ranging from supporting seniors to fighting hunger to cleaning up neighborhoods. Each effort reflected the spirit of giving back and keeping Orlando a thriving, welcoming place for everyone.

Our Central East District team was honored to play a role in this momentous occasion and contribute to a legacy of service. As Orlando celebrates its 150th anniversary, we’re reminded that small acts such as cleaning a park help ensure our community continues to shine for the next 150 years.
