Rebuilding Together Greater Florida is proud to announce the completion of critical repairs on more than 50 homes in Orange County over the past year through our Safe and Healthy Homes program. This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring housing stability for veterans, aging residents, and low-income families.
We recently gathered to celebrate this achievement at the home of U.S. veteran Michael Owens, where community leaders and partners came together to honor the impact of this work. Joining us were Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings, Commissioner Michael “Mike” Scott (District 6), Representative Anna V. Eskamani, Representative LaVon Bracy Davis, and the Orange County Housing and Community Development team, all reaffirming the importance of investing in safe, stable housing for our most vulnerable neighbors.
The celebration also recognized the generosity of volunteers from Lockheed Martin, who previously helped repair Mr. Owens’ home, and the funding support from Orange County that made these repairs possible. Together, their efforts highlight how public and private partnerships can transform lives and strengthen communities.
This milestone is more than a number it represents 50+ families now living in safer, healthier homes, and a stronger foundation for the future of Orange County.
