Through Verizon’s Community Disaster Resilience Initiative, Verizon and Rebuilding Together Greater Florida are partnering to strengthen community resilience before, during, and after disasters. By combining Verizon’s commitment to connectivity, preparedness, and community investment with RTGFL’s on-the-ground expertise in disaster readiness and home recovery, this partnership ensures support reaches families when it matters most, helping them prepare ahead of hurricane season and recover safely with resiliency in mind after storms.
Together, Verizon employees and RTGFL will assemble 500 Disaster Readiness Kits for our Tampa community at our Packing & Distribution Event on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the AdventHealth Training Center.
Volunteers will pack kits from 2:00–4:00 PM, followed by a drive-thru kit distribution from 5:00–7:00 PM, helping families take meaningful steps toward preparedness when it matters most.
Florida was fortunate this past season to avoid devastation on the scale of storms like Helene and Milton, but there are no guarantees for the year ahead. That reality makes preparing early essential. These kits focus on communication and awareness, equipping residents with clear information and practical tools they can use now to protect their households.
By providing resources before disaster strikes, we are helping our community be safer, more informed, and more resilient when the next storm comes.
