At Rebuilding Together Greater Florida (RTGFL), our mission to Repair, Revitalize, and Rebuild stronger communities is made possible through powerful partnerships that allow us to respond quickly and effectively when disaster strikes. One of the most impactful collaborations supporting this work is our partnership with the American Red Cross (ARC), whose grant funding has helped restore safety, stability, and dignity to families recovering from Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Through this partnership, we have been able to address urgent home repair needs for multiple homeowners whose lives were significantly disrupted by storm damage. Each project represents more than construction work—it represents a path back to safety, independence, and peace of mind.
For Kelly, the aftermath of the hurricanes brought extensive mold damage to his flooring, creating unsafe living conditions that made everyday life increasingly difficult as a wheelchair user. Navigating his home became a serious challenge, with accessibility and safety compromised. Through the combined support of RTGFL and the generosity of the American Red Cross, Kelly now has brand-new flooring, restoring accessibility and making his home safe, functional, and comfortable once again.
Regina and her son also faced significant hardship after Hurricanes Helene and Milton caused severe roof damage to their home. A compromised roof can quickly turn into a larger threat to a household’s stability, especially during Florida’s unpredictable weather conditions. Thanks to the partnership between RTGFL and the American Red Cross, their roof has now been fully repaired, allowing them to remain in their home with the security and peace of mind every family deserves.
Sarah and her family experienced similar devastation when their home sustained extensive roof damage from the storms. Through the support of the American Red Cross grant and RTGFL’s dedicated construction efforts, her roof has been fully restored, ensuring her family can live safely and confidently in their home once again.
