RTGFL Showcases Sarasota Disaster Readiness and Recovery Progress

Rebuilding Together Greater Florida (RTGFL) recently hosted a press conference in Sarasota to highlight the impact of our Disaster Readiness and Recovery Program and to celebrate completed and upcoming roofing projects across Sarasota County. This important initiative is helping ensure that families in our community are safer and more resilient in the face of future storms.

During the event, several homeowners shared how these essential repairs have strengthened their homes and given them peace of mind. From securing roofs to enhancing overall storm preparedness, the program is making a real difference for vulnerable households.

We were honored to be joined by key community leaders who have supported this work, including RTGFL Board President Anthony Baldo, Florida House Representative James Buchanan, Sarasota County Commissioner Mark Smith, and Heather Koester, Disaster Resilience Officer at United Way Suncoast. Their partnership and advocacy continue to play a vital role in expanding the reach of our disaster recovery efforts.

A special thanks goes to Red Ladder Roofing Florida, who demonstrated their commitment to the community by installing a FORTIFIED roof live during the event. This powerful demonstration showcased how strong partnerships can help protect families and build lasting resilience.

Together, we are making meaningful progress—one roof at a time.
